I think I want some art, but I'm not sure yet?
If you're not sure what you specifically want I encourage you to look through my "portfolio" or visit my Instagram or Facebook page to find inspiration.
Alternatively, if you have an inkling, you can send me a query on my ABOUT page and I might be able to suggest something to get those cogs turning.

How do I fill out an enquiry or an order?
Go to Order and fill out the form making sure to state your name, contact detail, what you are looking to order, a date and price (if you have one). Alternatively you can drop me an email.
How do I navigate the site?
To open the menu on mobile click the 3 dashes top left
|
This site has two ways of navigation in order to make it as user friendly as possible. To use either simply mouse over the heading you want to explore. On the left is the "drop-down" menu option that lets you quickly skim over the different section headings and click to go to your selected page. |
On the right is where you simply "click" the page heading which takes you through a more in-depth journey of the different styles of art and their sub-categories. |

How will I know how everything is going?
Once we start the process of getting an enquiry to finished piece I will keep you updated via email/my FaceBook page with:
Idea outlines
Sketch concepts
Progress pictures/videos
Update messages
If the piece is for a surprise, or you require me not to for any reason, I will not post the finished piece or any progress pictures online.
Refer to 3.The Creation Process, below.

Is there anything currently for sale?
This site is currently for commissioned art pieces - bespoke to the customer's needs. You need to send in an order or an enquiry to be able to own some of my work.
Will there be a shop section?
Yes! Eventually I plan to stock my work on external sites too.
Can I write you a testimonial?
What is the copyright surrounding the piece I bought?
If there is further growth involving my artwork I must be informed.
This is so a contract of usage can be written up e.g. “Images used for any purpose not directly related outside of these terms must be with the express permission of Artist (Zoe Davey Art & Photography) and may include the payment of additional fees, unless otherwise agreed to in writing.”

I require that the artwork is displayed with the above copyright tag. This is because digital pieces are very easy to redistribute. In the past I have had people steal my digital art and try to pass it off as their own.
I watermark most of my work that is displayed online via this website, Instagram, Facebook and other platforms so you are welcome to share it across different social medias but full credit should be given.

Non-digital:
Once you have paid for the commissioned piece of art it is yours and you are very welcome to display it to your choosing. It would be highly appreciated if you could point anyone enquiring who created it to myself and this business website.
"Historically, freelance artists, especially illustrators and photographers, have controlled use of their work by retaining direct ownership, transferring only specific usage rights to art buyers and other clients. This allowed them to control the work so that it could not be altered without their permission. More importantly, it also allowed them to continue to profit from the work if it was used again. This lucrative practice is seen as fair, in part because freelancers do not receive regular salaries nor other benefits that formal, salaried employees receive, such as unemployment insurance, workers comp, health and disability insurance, sick pay, vacation, pension, or profit-sharing opportunities."

What if I don’t want the product anymore?
The only stages you’ll be able to cancel your commission without a charge is directly before the 3.creation process has started. This means you cancel during the 1.enquiry or 2.consultation before the deposit has been made. Once the 3.creation process has started you will be charged the amount in relation to how far the process has come along. E.g. Materials bought and sketching started – you will be charged for the material price and the hours taken.
What if I don’t like the finished product?
As part of the 3.creation process progress images will be sent, updates and one on one consultation to make sure everything is how you want it to be. An open dialogue will allow plenty of space for you to be able to make changes and suggestions about the product.
E.g. the painting of a jungle has began and you decide you don’t want the tiger in the picture anymore – this could possibly be rectified and redesigned during the 3.creation process

Delivery & Payment Questions
What if I don’t want to pay for my product?
If you haven’t expressed any concern or new requirements of change etc. during 3.creation process and the product has been finished you will still have to pay the full price regardless of the situation. Deposits are non refundable.
E.g. it was a present you no longer require: you will have to pay the agreed price on the invoice.
